less than a week 'til moving day and i have one box of dvds and half of my winter clothes packed. one box. and a bag of clothes. i continue to tell myself that i work best under pressure... and late at night. i am going to stick by this.

everyone would agree that apartment hunting, for the most part, is bullshit. it's ridiculous what people consider to be "spacious" or "reasonable rent"... and the desperation of young realtors trying to rent (or sell, for that matter) apartments in the city is pretty depressing. if i was apartment hunting by myself, i'd probably end up signing a 2-year lease on a shithole simply because i felt bad for the poor guy who looks like he hasn't eaten a meal in months because it turns out he sucks at real estate more than he sucked at waiting tables. but that's just it, he doesn't suck. his apartments suck. brooklyn's where it's at, yo. same rent, MUCH larger space -- equally great location, if not greater.

i shit you not, my current apartment, i live an only-miserable-in-the-blistery-winter 12 blocks from the graham stop off the L and was still a 20 minute door-to-door commute to my job on the west side of union square. i am now moving one stop closer to manhattan and a single block from the train. if we want to get technical, i think we're actually half a block across the street, but whatever. if we're talking cabs, south 5th exit off the williamsburg bridge, please and hi, i'm home. here's your ten bucks (15, with tip) have a great night!

as much as i hate moving, i'm super excited about starting this new chapter and i'm almost certain the next 12 months are going to be awesome. oh, and everyone should watch jerry bruckheimer's new ABC series the forgotten because our friend anthony carrigan is in it as the sexy mysterious art boy. if you're into CSI and things of that nature, this is right up your alley. it premiered this past tuesday so get on that, you can find it on hulu (who's tagline should be "the best website on earth," btdubs.)

and while i'm here dishing out shameless plugs, look for the premiere of celebrity ghost stories on the biography channel next thursday (october 1) where my dear friend taryn devito plays david carradine's wife, who tragically dies two months after they film this episode. if you're into ghost stories and famous people, this is for you. ALSO, nurse jackie fans, look for my dear (soon-to-be former *sad face*) roommate arjun gupta - who, if you've been paying attention, has already made an appearance in season 1... but will be a recurring character in season 2 *gasp*, which i don't think airs til next summer but - still. pencil it in.

lastly, if i've used "who" in places where i should've used "whom"... it's because i don't know the difference nor do i care. thank you, and have a great night!
